DESCRIPTION
ICONED is the Amiga icon editor. It is a menu driven interactive
editor that lets the user edit an icon directly on the screen. The
important thing to know about icons is that there are divided in 5
types. The DISK icons represent floppy disk, the DRAW icons represent
drawers (directories), the TOOL icons correspond to tools (commands),
the PROJECT icons represent files, and the GARBAGE icon represent the
trashcan directory. These types do not only correspond to the
graphic design of the icons, but to the data they contain and the way
the Workbench treats them. To create an icon of a given type, one must
copy an icon of that type, and edit it to modify its image and
parameters.
INCONED edit the graphic properties of icons, the other parameters
being modifiable with the info menu of Workbench. With ICONED it is
possible to redesign the image of an icon, as well as its highlight
mode. Amiga icons can be highlighted in three different ways. They can
be shown in inverse video, they can be backfilled, or display a
different image. Backfilling is the same as inverse video, except that
the contiguous part of the icon that is adjacent to the border and in
color zero is not inverted.
As ICONED cannot edit icons that are rendered as 2 images, it is
necessary to use ICONMERGE to split such icons before editing them, and
then merge them to reconstruct the original icon.
To exit from ICONED one must click on window close gadget.
